I present this light and fluffy cake perfectly next to a cup of coffee or milk. In France it is called Marbré, named after a limestone rock that is in several colors.

What I like about this cake is the super fast preparation in 5 minutes, everything is ready. Mix eggs, sugar, melted butter and milk in a large bowl. Mix well until they become frothy. Then add the flour mixed with baking powder and vanilla sugar. Pour half of the composition into the tray lined with butter and flour and then mix the other half with cocoa. Pour the cocoa part over the first composition in the tray and mix a little with a stick.

Bake in the preheated oven, the first 10 minutes at 210 degrees and then another 30-40 at 180 degrees (time varies depending on the oven). It is served powdered with sugar or glazed, I left it simple this time.

This recipe was born by chance and is not even my recipe. But he has a nice story behind him. And I'll tell you next. My husband was the one who set it all up.

I had 3 egg whites lost in the fridge and I didn't feel like doing anything with them. So I asked my husband if he wanted an omelet with more egg whites. I mean, I thought I'd add another egg and quickly make an omelet.

He didn't like the idea and suggested I turn the egg whites into something sweet. But it was late and I was tired so I didn't agree. However, he did not give up the idea and told me that he was in charge of it.

My husband is not on his first attempt at cooking. If you have been following the recipes published on the site for some time, you already know that it has also contributed to increasing their number. He is the one who does, for example, tripe soup (see recipe here).

Although I didn't have high hopes that something edible would come out considering that it didn't work according to a certain recipe, I was surprised, in the end, when he took the cake out of the oven, to see how good it looks. Then I sliced ​​it, tasted it and, as I liked it, I said it would be a shame not to put the recipe on the blog. So a kind of example that anyone can cook a cake even if they have no idea and even if they do not have a recipe at hand.

This recipe is also useful from the perspective of eliminating food waste from the kitchen and the economy. Instead of giving up the 3 egg whites or making just an omelet from them, I capitalized on them by making a delicious cake that I had several mornings, for breakfast, with coffee.

I prepared a cake recipe in two colors, for moms who were left without ideas for delicious desserts. This preparation is easy, it is ready quickly, and the final result will pamper the taste buds of loved ones. Here are the steps you need to follow to prepare this recipe!

Ingredients for the cake in two colors:

8 eggs
500 grams of sugar
2 sachets of vanilla sugar
500 milliliters of milk
500 milliliters of oil
700 grams of white flour
1 sachet of baking powder
1 orange
2 tablespoons cocoa tip
100 grams of dark chocolate
3-4 tablespoons rum essence (optional)

5 steps to prepare cake in two colors:

1. In a large bowl, add eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar. Mix well with a whisk or mixer until the sugar dissolves. Put an orange on the grater and add the grated peel to the composition, along with the milk and oil.

2. In another bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder, then combine with the sugar eggs. The formed dough is divided into two bowls.

3. In one of the bowls add cocoa, melted dark chocolate to bain marie and, optionally, rum essence. Mix well until you get a homogeneous composition.

4. Grease a round baking tray with butter and place a baking sheet in it. Add three tablespoons of white dough in it, then three tablespoons of black dough in the center of the white. Repeat the process until the composition is finished.

5. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and insert the dough tray for about 50 minutes or until you put a toothpick in the cake and it comes out clean. Once it is ready, it is left to cool, after which it can be sliced ​​and served.

Useful advice:
The quality of the flour being different, the above quantity (2 cups) is indicative. It is possible to reach the desired consistency with just a cup and a half. So add the flour slowly and mix well.
Use the same cup as the unit of measure for all ingredients.
