There apple pie recipe is the one that reminds me most of my childhood and this one that I propose today is the recipe for apple pie soft and light that my mom has been preparing for as long as I can remember: I think it is the traditional recipe for grandma's apple pie and for me it's the best in the world;)
Apple pie is a classic dessert of Italian cuisine and is perhaps my favorite cake recipe ever: fluffy, fragrant and easy e quick to prepare, with various consistencies given by soft dough and give pieces of apple. In one word perfect, both for adults and children.
During the winter, my mom prepares apple pie at least once a week and, if she has some leftovers (very rarely or if she makes a couple of them), we freeze the slices and defrost them on the spot to eat them for breakfast. Or it's up to me to get down to business, cooking my own version of the dessert homemade, which also has some success!
Today I want to share the recipe with you. As you will see, the doses and ingredients they are calibrated for a medium-large cake pan, but it is difficult to make the proportion with the number of people: this cake is so good and greedy that an encore is inevitable! How to make apple pie
Peel and slice the apples into small pieces, sprinkling with the juice of one lemon to prevent them from turning dark.
Meanwhile, beat the egg whites until stiff and beat the egg yolks with the sugar separately.
Add the softened butter to the eggs and whip.
Pour a glass of milk and mix until the cake dough is smooth and homogeneous.
Now add the flour with the baking powder and the grated lemon zest.
Now incorporate the beaten egg whites.
Finally add the apples to the dough.
Incorporate the apples into the dough, then pour the apple pie mixture into a greased and floured cake pan.
Cover the apple pie with apple slices and a few curls of butter.
Bake the cake in a preheated oven for 40-50 minutes at 180 ° C.
Allow the apple pie to cool before serving.
