Rustic leccesi

Rustici leccesi recipe by of 14-03-2015 [Updated on 19-04-2017]

The rustic Lecce are an Apulian specialty, a Salento street food that can be found in every bar and pastry shop in the area. These are rustic made with puff pastry and stuffed with béchamel, tomato and mozzarella, they are very simple to prepare and delicious! My weekend begins, I would like to put the turbo to quickly do the washing machines and the services in the house so that I can take Elisa for a walk, maybe in a place where there is a bit of greenery;) then there I say goodbye and I get to work, kisses and good weekend; *

How to make the rustic Lecce

To prepare the rustic Lecce, first make the bechamel (go here for the recipe) and let it cool

Cook the tomato puree with salt and a drizzle of oil

Roll out the puff pastry on a surface, then with a pastry cutter cut out circles with a diameter of 10 cm

Put a little béchamel sauce in the center of the middle of the circles

Then add some tomato puree and finally the diced mozzarella

Cover with other discs and seal the edges well by pressing with your fingers

Then seal further with the tines of a fork. Put the Lecce rustics on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with beaten egg.

Bake in a preheated oven at 200 ° for about 15 minutes, until golden

Just let it cool and serve
