Lavender biscuits recipe of 03-05-2019
THE lavender cookies are the first recipe I tried, following your advice, with my first lavender plant. The scent that is released during cooking is indescribable, it is worth making them even just for this! Surely these shortbread biscuits are not for everyone, but don't be afraid to get some soap-flavored biscuits: the taste is particular but very very delicate, and together with the crumbly pastry the result is really amazing;) This was my very first experiment with lavender in the kitchen and I must say that I'm satisfied, I can't wait to try some new recipe to offer you!
How to make lavender cookies
In a large bowl, combine cold butter into small pieces and flour and work quickly to obtain a sandy mixture.
Stir in the sugar and egg and, once you have a smooth dough, add the lavender.
Cover with cling film and let it rest in the fridge for 1 hour.
Take the dough back, divide it in half and form two cylinders.
Wrap them with plastic wrap and leave them in the freezer for 30 minutes.
Take the cylinders back and cut them into slices of about 1 cm.
As they are ready, arrange them in the baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Then bake for about 10-12 minutes at 180 ° C, preheated convection oven.
Let the lavender cookies cool before serving.
