The star struffoli are the famous Neapolitan struffoli, with the variant of their shape. They are so cute that you hardly want to eat them, but luckily the Christmas period is very long and we can make them and redo them several times during the holidays. If the little ones are at home with you, make them participate by letting you help to cut the dough in the shape of a star, it will be much more fun! How to make star struffoli
Put the flour in a fountain and in the center add sugar, butter, lemon peel, limoncello and egg.
Knead the ingredients with your fingertips and gradually add the flour.
In this way you get a smooth and homogeneous dough.
Roll out the dough on a floured pastry board and use a very small star-shaped pastry cutter to make the stars.
When the oil is boiling, fry a few struffoli at a time and keep them aside.
Now cover them with honey and turn them over gently.
Bring your star-shaped struffoli to the table by adding sprinkles and sugar stars.
