The waffles, also called waffles, are famous breakfast waffles cooked on double hot plates that give them the characteristic appearance embossed, namely a grate. There are several variations throughout northern Europe, i Waffle in fact they are typical of Belgium, France, Germany and Scandinavia and each recipe differs a little from the other in quantity of sugar, consistency and shape.
My favorite waffles are the Belgian waffles, square-shaped, tall, not very sweet, soft inside, usually sprinkled with icing sugar or accompanied by cream, fruit or melted chocolate. I must say that when they gave me the special plate to make the waffles I could not resist the temptation and I prepared them immediately, stuffed in a double version, with the classic maple syrup and strawberries and in the tastier version with cream and Nutella they went snapped up! If you don't have a waffle iron, you can cook the batter in a non-stick pan, but at that point, I recommend you opt for pancakes.

How to make waffles
Separate the egg whites from the yolks and whip the whites until stiff with a pinch of salt.
Separately, whip the egg yolks with the sugar.
Add the melted butter to the egg yolks.
Then add the whipped whites, mixing gently.
Also add vanilla and milk.
Finally add the flour and mix.
Melt a knob of butter on the already hot plate.
Pour a sufficient quantity of batter to cover the plate creating a thick and uniform layer.
Close the plate and cook according to the times shown on the instructions (about 5 minutes were enough for me).
Your waffles must be golden brown.
Serve immediately, with maple syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, Nutella or whatever your imagination (and throat) suggests!
